South Korean photographer JeongMee Yoon started ‘The Pink and Blue Project’ in 2006, when her five-year-old daughter couldn’t get enough of pink clothing and toys. And so Yoon began photographing children in their bedrooms with their collection of pink and blue objects. It seems that that girls’ preference for pink and boys’ for blue is universal, additionally powered by advertising and media intentionally targeting each gender of children with the respective color. Are we really determined this way from the very begining?
